Export of Ukrainian agricultural products decreased by nearly a quarter

In April, Ukraine exported 4.1 million tons of agricultural products, which is 23.4% less than the same indicator of the previous month.

Almost all product groups showed a decline in export volumes in April. The exception is vegetable oils, whose exports are growing. This is due to an unusual situation in the Ukrainian sunflower oil market, where production volumes this year were spread out over time.

The structure of agricultural exports in April was as follows:

  • Grain crops: 2.4 million tons (corn – 65%, wheat – 32%, barley – 2%). Decrease compared to the previous month: -33%;
  • Oilseed crops: 421.2 thousand tons (soybeans – 78%, rapeseed – 20%, flax – 1%). Decrease: -3%;
  • Vegetable oils: 525.8 thousand tons (sunflower oil – 91%, soybean oil – 9%). Increase: +6%;
  • Oilseed meal (after oil extraction): 423.0 thousand tons (sunflower – 73%, soybean – 27%). Decrease: -14%;
  • Other types of agro-industrial products: 357.0 thousand tons. Decrease: -2%.
