Export of live cattle is growing

In January-September 2023, Ukraine exported 14,8 thousand tons of live cattle, which is 13,8% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, in monetary terms, the export of live cattle for three quarters was 5,3% less than for 9 months of 2022, amounting to 23,4 million US dollars.

Lebanon (56,1%), Egypt (29%), and Jordan (9,7%) bought the most domestic live cattle during January-September this year. The import of live cattle during the 3 quarters of 2023 amounted to 517 tons, which is 32,2% less than in the same period last year.

Ukrainian farmers spent 2,7 million US dollars for buying live cattle abroad - 18,2% less than in the first nine months of 2022. Live cattle in January-September 2023 were most imported from Denmark (72,8%), Slovakia (13,7%) and Poland (10%).
