Export of agricultural products by road transport decreased by 19% in June

In June, the volume of agricultural exports from Ukraine by road transport reached 262,700 tons, a 19% decrease compared to May. 

A decline in agricultural exports was observed at all border checkpoints. The largest reductions were recorded at the Hungarian and Romanian borders, with decreases of 35.8% and 33.6%, reaching 24,900 tons and 53,400 tons, respectively. Agricultural exports through the Slovak and Moldovan checkpoints dropped by 24.1% and 19.9%, reaching 12,800 tons and 45,200 tons, respectively. The smallest decline was at the Polish border, where exports decreased by 4% to 126,300 tons. 

The main export products in June were sunflower oil (30,800 tons) and sweetened water (16,100 tons). 

Transportation costs to Odesa ports increased by $2-3, while costs to Danube ports decreased by $1-2 per ton. Rates for European routes remained stable.

  • Central Ukraine – Danube ports: $31-40;
  • Central Ukraine – Odesa ports: $24-27.

  • Ternopil Oblast – Central/Northern Italy: €98-123;
  • Ternopil Oblast – Central Bulgaria: €68-98;
  • Cherkasy Oblast – Southern Romania: €95-105. 

Market rates for transportation by tarpaulin trucks to Europe: 

  • Ternopil Oblast – Central/Northern Italy: €78-110; 
  • Ternopil Oblast – Central Bulgaria: €53-68;
  • Cherkasy Oblast – Southern Romania: €59-76.
