The European Commission returned customs duties on Ukrainian honey

From August 21 until June 5, 2025, the import of Ukrainian honey to the EU will take place within the tariff quotas provided for in the Association Agreement. The automatic renewal of tariff quotas was launched in connection with the achievement of the volume of import into the EU corresponding to the average annual indicators between June 1, 2021 and December 31, 2023 - as provided by preventers agreed in June this year for seven types of agricultural products.

For honey, this average import figure is 44 417,56 tons. From January 1 to June 5, 2025, a new tariff quota corresponding to 5/12 of the threshold established for the application of the "emergency brake" will be introduced. For honey, the volume of the new quota is set at the indicator of 18 507,32 tons.

The import of Ukrainian honey to the EU in the last five years has been quite stable - an average of 49 000 tons per year.
