The European Commission banned the import of certain agricultural products from Ukraine

The EC has officially announced the introduction of "exceptional and temporary" precautionary measures against import from Ukraine, which limit the arrival of agricultural goods of Ukrainian production to 5 EU countries.

Preventive measures will apply only to 4  agricultural products - grain, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds originating from Ukraine. These measures are also aimed at eliminating the existing logistical complications regarding the transportation of these goods in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. These measures come into force on May 2 and will be valid until June 5, 2023.

The mentioned goods will continue to transit through these 5 member states under normal customs transit procedures to third countries or territories outside the EU. At the same time, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia agreed to cancel their unilateral measures on wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds, or any other products coming from Ukraine.
