The EU has taken away restrictions on import of poultry products from Ukraine

On January 17, 2022, the European Union has taken away restrictions on the import of poultry products from Ukraine, which were in force since December 2020 due to the cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza which were detected in our country. This was reported by the State Food and Consumer Service.

Earlier, the EU recognized the zoning of Ukraine for highly pathogenic avian influenza. Restrictions were applied to quarantine areas where cases of the disease were detected, while products from uninfected areas were allowed to be exported to the EU.

Due to the effective work carried out to eliminate outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza and to take measures to prevent the spread of the disease, the restrictions that have been used have been taken away in full.

In recent years, the system of state control over avian influenza in Ukraine has been repeatedly assessed by inspectors of the competent authorities of trading partner countries, including the EU, the United States, Japan, Canada and China. According to the results of evaluations, the system of state control over avian influenza introduced in Ukraine was recognized as effective.
