During four months Ukraine has exported more than 190 tons of fish

During January-April Ukraine exported 191,7 tons of live and fresh fish, the cost of which is 238,9 thousand US dollars. This is the news of UNN with the reference of the press service of the State Agency for Fisheries.

„According to the data of State Service of Statistics of Ukraine, during January-April 2020, our state supplied 191,7 tons of live and fresh (chilled) fish to foreign markets for the total amount of 238,9 thousand US dollars“, - the statement said. Thus, 98% of Ukrainian live fish export (189,3 tons for the amount of 224,3 thousand US dollars) was to Moldova. Minor deliveries were also made to Byelorussia and Israel.

It is noted that the largest buyer of domestic fresh or chilled fish was Turkey – 2 041 kg for the sum of 9,3 thousand US dollars, among which – 1 978 kg of turbot for the sum of 8,9 thousand dollars. Minor deliveries were also made to Liberia, Austria, Malta, Cyprus, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, the Seychelles and the Marshall Islands.

Concerning commodity items for January-April 2020 the most exported was such live and fresh or chilled fish (in absolute terms):

- carp – 184 394 kg for 223,2 thousand US dollars;

- turbot – 1 978 kg for 8,9 thousand US dollars.

It should be mentioned that during the first quarter of 2020 export of the Ukrainian frozen fish increased  to 22%.
