Denys Shmygal: The state will continue to work on improving the investment climate to do business in Ukraine easier and more comfortable

Support of Ukraine's international partners today is extremely important and unprecedented. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal during the annual meeting of member-companies of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine informed that the prime ministers of three countries, a large group of MEPs and ministers are visiting Ukraine now.

«We are negotiating not only on threats and aggression counteraction, but also on strengthening cooperation, joint infrastructure projects, development and investment», -  said Denis Shmygal.

The Prime Minister stressed that thanks to the coordinated measures of the authorities and the support of international partners, Ukraine’s economy began to recover after the coronavirus crisis. This is evidenced by more than 3% GDP growth in 2021 and a record GDP of more than 195 billion US dollars. 

«We have an absolute overfulfillment of the budget last year, and the burden on business in percentage correspondence is less year by year. We have a 6% increase in real incomes», - the head of the government said, adding that the average salary in Ukraine in December 2021 reached almost 600 US dollars.

The Prime Minister also noted the incredible growth of IT sector: «Increase to 5 billion US dollars in 2020 and 7 billion US dollars  in 2021. Today, the Ukrainian IT service is becoming one of the main players on the IT map of Europe». 

According to the Prime Minister’s words, the construction industry grew by almost 6%. He stressed that the state will actively develop this area through affordable mortgage lending programs and the implementation of a large number of infrastructure projects.

The Prime Minister also noted the record export indicators - 68 billion US dollars (an increase of almost 40%).

Denys Shmygal underlined that the state will continue to work to improve the investment climate to do business in Ukraine easier and more comfortable.
