In December 2022 7 million tons of agricultural products were exported

In December 2022, Ukraine managed to export 7 million tons of agricultural products, which is 2% less than the same indicator of the previous month. 53% of export was done with the help of the "grain shipping corridor", and the rest - through alternative export routes. However, many products are still in queues for departure by both railway and automobile transport, which will negatively affect export indicators by alternative routes next month.

Export structure in December 2022: grain crops: 4,9 million tons (corn - 63%, wheat - 34%, barley - 3%). Growth compared to November: +4%; oil crops: 867,6 thousand tons (sunflower seeds - 34%, soybeans - 29% and rapeseed - 25%). Decrease: -34%; vegetable oils: 468,4 thousand tons (sunflower oil - 94%, soybean oil - 5%). Decrease: -9%; oil cakes after extraction of vegetable oils: 505,7 thousand tons (sunflower - 90%, soybean - 10%). Growth: +48%.

The biggest changes in the structure of export in December 2022 are due to the decrease in export shipments of oil crops. This is due to a decrease in rapeseed export. Rapeseed grown in 2022 has been almost completely exported.

This trend will allow to increase the shipment of other items. According to the results of December 2022, the export of oil cake from oil crops increased by 163,8 thousand tons.

In Ukraine, prices remain low, and logistics costs "eat up" the entire profit of farmers, which, in turn, makes the 2023 sowing at risk.
