The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced a transition period for cosmetic product market operators

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to postpone the entry into force of the Technical Regulation on cosmetic products until August 3, 2024 and to introduce a transition period for cosmetic product market operators until August 3, 2026.

This is reported by the Ministry of health protection of Ukraine.

Due to the military actions and the potential creation of additional technical burdens on market operators, the Ministry of health protection proposed, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported, to postpone the entry into force of the regulation.

The technical regulation on cosmetic products is a normative act that is adopted for the first time. It establishes requirements for cosmetic products on the Ukrainian market, defines the rights and obligations of market participants regarding the introduction of cosmetic products into circulation.

The regulation was developed to improve the quality and safety of cosmetic products by excluding undesirable substances from its composition. The document is also designed to harmonize Ukrainian and European legislation, to eliminate administrative and technical barriers to trade with the European Union.
