In the Chernivtsi region, repairs and modernization of the “Kelmentsi - Larga” border crossing point with Moldova have started. 

As part of the ongoing repairs, the “Kelmentsi - Larga” checkpoint, which facilitates logistics between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, is being upgraded. 

The Restoration Service noted that this is neither new construction nor a major overhaul but rather the implementation of mobile and standard modular solutions. This approach significantly saves public funds and time. 

The renovation includes replacing the canopy and road surface, installing modern modular structures for staff and passengers, upgrading lighting and utility networks, constructing new fencing, road markings, and information signs, as well as developing a sanitary zone and adjacent territory. Water storage tanks, an autonomous sewage system, and containers for separate waste collection will also be installed. 

To ensure uninterrupted operation, the checkpoint is equipped with an autonomous generator.
