The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (AMPU) forms the first caravan from the seaports of Ukraine and accepts applications for the next ones

The Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine is forming the first caravan to leave Ukrainian ports in connection with the signing of the grain export initiative in Istanbul. Deputy Minister of Economy, trade representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka announced this on the air of the Ukrainian telethon, UNN reports.

"We are crossing our fingers, fists and praying that the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine will form the first caravan to leave Ukrainian ports, and just now it has been already happening, and that caravan will pass successfully. And after that it will be possible to say that the initiative has already worked, and later on it will be possible to work with the expectations of other shipowners, and then the number of cargoes will increase," - Kachka said.

Details

According to his words, applications for the formation of caravans are now being collected.

"Quite clear messages from the Association of Sea Ports of Ukraine that applications for the formation of these caravans are being collected now. This is actually a question of such navigation, the very fact of which route will take place. These are super technical details. The most important element is that shipowners from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Egypt say - we send our dry cargo to Chornomorsk or to the South, in order to load corn there. This is our goal. This is what we strive for. Everything else is very technical or political," said Kachka.

Additionally

The Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine reported that in connection with the signing of the Initiative on the export of grain and related food products by sea on July 22, 2022, the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi are being prepared accordingly for the renewal of work.

It was noted that the arrival and departure of vessels to the indicated seaports will be carried out by forming a caravan, which will be accompanied by the main vessel.

Additionally

On July 23, Russia attacked the Odesa sea trading port with Kalibr cruise missiles. 2 missiles were shot down by air defense forces. 2 of them hit the infrastructure facilities of the port, reported in operational command "Pivden".

Russia said that the grain agreement does not exclude strikes on military facilities in Odesa.

Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported that the latest documents are being agreed. It is expected that the agreement will be valid the following days.
