About 90% of peaches on the Ukrainian market are imported

This season, Ukrainian supermarket shelves are predominantly stocked with imported stone fruits due to significant losses from spring frosts.

Ukraine is losing not only its harvest but also market opportunities.

The situation highlights deeper structural issues: inadequate orchard protection, lack of state support, and insufficient adoption of modern technologies.

Ukraine’s climatic conditions allow for the cultivation of high-quality peaches and nectarines, capable of competing with Italy, Spain, or Greece. However, in practice, imports dominate and not solely due to weather conditions.
