The export of Ukrainian animal products to the markets of European Union countries is possible only after confirming the fulfillment of the requirements of the destination country and obtaining the appropriate certificate from the territorial body of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Derzhprodspozhyvsluzhba).
It is noted that the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has provided the expansion of the EU market for certain types of food products. Specifically, in 2024, 22 Ukrainian enterprises were granted export rights (covering fish products, dairy products, egg products, and poultry meat products).
In view of the changes in EU legislation (the adoption of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2652 on 15 September 2023), according to which batches of honey and other beekeeping products intended for human consumption may only be imported into the EU from approved enterprises, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection of Ukraine confirmed and sent to the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission 27 applications for the inclusion of beekeeping production enterprises in the list of third-country enterprises entitled to export food products to the EU.
Last year, 39 export facilities (objects) for the production of non-edible animal products were approved. Of these, 8 new enterprises were added to the register, while changes were made for 31 enterprises regarding the expansion of their range of non-edible products and the addition of new export destinations.
