Industry description

257 deposits of brown coal, granites of various types, peat, titanium ores, bentonites secondary kaolins, oil shale, gypsum, and 400 deposits of various clays have been explored in the region. The area is rich in non-metallic minerals, particularly in building materials. There are more than 10 mining and quarrying enterprises in the region.
