In June, according to preliminary data, about 412 000 tons of sunflower meal were shipped from Ukraine to foreign markets, which is 7% less than the previous month, however, it was the highest volume for this month in history.

The reduction in export was mainly due to a 40% decrease in shipments to the EU countries - to 105 000 tons. It should be noted that this is the lowest monthly export figure in this direction since May last year.

At the same time, the export of sunflower meal to China in June increased for the third month in a row, reaching 214 thousand tons (+3% to May), which became the largest monthly export volume for this direction since January 2023.

A total of 4,2 million tons of meal were exported from Ukraine since the beginning of the current season (September-June), which was 21% higher than in the same period of the previous season and became the second largest volume of export for the specified period in the entire history after 2019/20 marketing year (4,5 million tons).

EU countries remain the main sales market throughout the season with a share of 43%. The growth of export in this direction for 10 months of the marketing year is 32%.
