The Cabinet of Ministers decided not to limit corn exports yet

After an online meeting with agrarian associations the Deputy Minister Taras Vysotskyi announces on his Facebook page that the Cabinet of Ministers has decided not to set limits for corn exports yet as well as not to sign the Annex to the Memorandum between the grain exporters and the Ministry of Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

He writes that the agrarian associations, representing the livestock industry, have enough corn till the new harvest for manufacturing animal feed and that is why there is no need to sign the corn program to the Memorundam. At the same time Vysotskyi emphasized that the Ministry of Economy does not remove from the agenda the issue of formalizing the marginal volume of corn exports and continues to monitor the situation on the market. Both sides have agreed to come back to this issue if the situation on the market will change.

As it has been reported before, Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) sees no need to set the marginal volumes of corn exports at the level of 29,3 million tons in this season. Such volume was offered by the Ministry of Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine. As of April 24, Ukraine has already exported to the external markets almost 26 million tons of corn.
