The Ukrainian Legume and Soy Association, together with the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, promptly unblocked the export of Ukrainian peas to Nepal, eliminating procedural obstacles that caused delays in shipments.
The reason for the delay was the need for additional approval of documents within the phytosanitary risk analysis (PRA) procedure carried out by the competent authority of Nepal. This effectively put at risk the timely issuance of import permits and the fulfillment of contractual obligations by Ukrainian exporters.
To resolve the situation, the ULSA appealed to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection with a request to ensure the necessary official communication with the Nepali side. The issue was resolved in a short time, which allowed the resumption of uninterrupted clearance of supplies.
In 2026, there is a revival of Ukrainian pea exports to Nepal. This is a promising market that has offered Ukrainian exporters competitive conditions and an attractive price environment.
