The new government of Hungary has restored the ban on the import of products from Ukraine after its accidental cancellation.
Resolution 130/2023, which since 2023 had prohibited the import into Hungary of more than 20 categories of Ukrainian agricultural products, lost its force on May 14 of this year.
However, the sanctions were canceled “due to a legislative error.” That is why the cabinet of Prime Minister Peter Magyar took “urgent measures” to restore the ban as quickly as possible, the publication says.
The ban applies to about 20 categories of goods, including beef, pork, poultry, eggs, sunflower seeds, corn, wheat, barley, flour and rapeseed oil. Honey is likely to be included as well.
