Ukraine and Moldova have signed a protocol supplementing the 1997 agreement on border crossing points.

The protocol creates the legal basis for opening a new border crossing point and allows the necessary funding to be included in the State Budget of Ukraine.

The arrangement of the border crossing point is already underway – on the Ukrainian side, this work is handled by the Agency for Restoration.

The opening of the new border crossing point will bring practical results: increased capacity for freight transport; more efficient export/import through Moldova and Romania; strengthening of the “Solidarity Lanes”; reduced load on other border crossing points.
