Sunflower exports fell to the lowest level in two decades

Sunflower exports over the first 4 months of the season dropped to the lowest level in the last two decades, amounting to only 12 thousand tonnes.

Delays in harvesting and farmers’ restraint in selling sunflowers are keeping oil export figures at low levels. In December, military risks and their consequences were added, which led to a reduction in December’s export potential. Over the four months, approximately 1.3 million tonnes were exported, whereas in recent years the typical level has been around 2.0 million tonnes.
