Ukraine resumes gas imports via the Trans-Balkan Corridor

Three companies have booked capacity for importing natural gas to Ukraine via the joint Route 1 of the Trans-Balkan direction for November.

The total volume of booked capacity is 0.6 million cubic meters per day (6.32 GWh).

Among the companies that reserved capacity for gas imports from Greece to Ukraine are the Greek company DEPA Commercial, D.Trading (a subsidiary of Ukraine’s largest gas production group DTEK), and the Swiss company Axpo Trading.

In total, the gas transmission system operators of Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece offered nearly 1.9 million cubic meters per day of capacity for booking in November.

In September and October, companies did not book capacity on this route, so no gas imports took place. The route had actually been operational for two months (July–August), but supplies were halted in September 2025 due to high tariffs and the lack of long-term guaranteed access to capacity. Before the suspension, 18 million cubic meters of natural gas had been delivered to Ukraine.

The booking of capacity for November is primarily due to tariff reductions by the Moldovan and Romanian TSOs.
