The Hungarian government does not plan to lift the ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products after the updated trade agreement between the EU and Ukraine comes into force.
The Hungarian minister stressed that the government is protecting Hungarian farmers and is unilaterally keeping the border closed to Ukrainian agricultural products.
At the same time, Poland’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced that it will not lift the indefinite ban on imports from Ukraine of wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds in light of the updated trade agreement between the EU and Ukraine coming into effect.
The ministry believes that the new agreement does not include all the provisions proposed by Poland that are intended to minimize the potential negative impact of Ukrainian imports on Polish agriculture.
