Ukraine has temporarily restricted the import of animals and products of animal origin from the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Spain due to outbreaks of animal diseases.
In the Netherlands, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been recorded. To prevent the introduction of the virus into Ukraine, the import of hatching eggs, poultry, and poultry products is prohibited, except for those that have undergone special processing that guarantees the destruction of the pathogen.
In Lithuania, cases of bluetongue have been detected. The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has banned the import of animals susceptible to the virus and their genetic material.
In Spain, cases of lumpy skin disease in cattle have been registered. Accordingly, imports into Ukraine of susceptible animals, reproductive material, as well as fresh and chilled hides, raw milk, and dairy products intended for human consumption are restricted, except for products processed by methods that guarantee the destruction of the pathogen.
