Soy export from Ukraine dropped almost threefold at the start of the new season

In the first month of the 2025/2026 marketing year (MY), Ukraine exported 78 thousand tons of soy, which is almost three times less than last year's September figure.

In September, traders offered premium prices for fast deliveries to cover deficit export volumes. However, over the past week, export prices for GMO soy decreased by $5-10 per ton, to $388–390 per ton, or 16,800–17,000 UAH per ton with delivery to Black Sea ports.

Processors expect an increase in supply from producers who delayed sales until the official abolition of the duty.

Export prices for non-GMO soy remain at 18,000–18,200 UAH per ton, or $420–430 per ton with delivery to Black Sea ports. However, processor demand is low due to the falling price of non-GMO soy meal in the EU, caused by increased supply of rapeseed meal.

The main suppliers of soy to the EU remain Brazil – 1.85 million tons (last year – 2.15 million tons), the USA – 970 thousand tons (last year – 909 thousand tons), and Ukraine – 345 thousand tons (last year – 238 thousand tons).
