Last month, gasoline imports decreased by 25% compared to July, reaching 164,000 tons, matching the volume from the same period last year.
Lithuania regained its leading position in gasoline imports as shipments from Poland dropped by 45% (34,800 tons). ORLEN Lietuva supplied 47,400 tons of fuel (-2% compared to July). While road transport dominated last month, rail shipments increased in August (from 24,000 to 33,000 tons).
This growth was driven by OKKO, which increased its imports from Lithuania by 3.5 times, reaching 12,000 tons. The increase in Lithuanian imports likely came at the expense of reduced rail supplies from Poland.
Amic nearly doubled its gasoline imports to 3,300 tons, with Lithuania remaining a key source for the company due to its long-standing ties with local producers.
Imports from Poland also declined for Select Energy (-61%, 3,300 tons) and Orlen (-38%, 30,300 tons). Despite the reduction, Orlen’s shipment volumes remain close to the historical highs of 2022.
In August, imports of A-92 gasoline resumed, reaching 7,800 tons, the highest since August 2022.
In addition to road shipments (1,700 tons), a maritime shipment of 6,100 tons arrived from Cyprus (VTT Vasiliko terminal).
Ivano-Frankivsk-based “Energo Trade Invest” debuted in the fuel market. In addition to A-92, the company cleared 2,200 tons of A-95 gasoline from Greece, delivered by Wexler in late August. Previously, Energo Trade Invest had imported A-95 and A-98 via road shipments from Lithuania.
