Ukraine significantly increased lard imports in July

From January to July 2025, Ukraine imported 8,300 tons of lard, pork fat, and poultry fat, a 12.2% increase compared to the same period last year. However, in monetary terms, foreign purchases slightly decreased by 4.1% compared to the first seven months of 2024, reaching $9.4 million.

Imports sharply increased in July, with 2,400 tons (28.9% of the total volume), compensating for lower imports in the first half of the previous year. The main suppliers of lard, pork fat, and poultry fat in the first seven months of 2025 were Poland (72.7%), Germany (11.5%), and Spain (7.2%).
