From January to May 2025, Ukrainian seaports processed 78,000 TEU of containerized cargo, nearly double the amount compared to the same period last year. There is a gradual recovery in this transport sector and an increase in container handling volumes.

The largest decline in container transport volumes was recorded in 2023, with only 67,000 TEU processed – more than half of the 157,700 TEU handled in the first year of the full-scale invasion.

In 2024, the market saw some recovery, reaching nearly 130,000 TEU by year-end.

However, container transport sector performance remains far below pre-invasion levels.
