Ukrainian dairy plants are already being forced to cut cheese production due to record-high imports.
As a result of the growing imports, the market share of Ukrainian cheese producers is shrinking. This, in turn, is forcing cheesemakers to reduce production.
The reduction in production increases the cost per unit of product, which leads to higher production costs and, consequently, rising prices and an even greater loss of competitiveness against imported products.
