Ukraine may start importing gas via the Trans-Balkan Corridor

In addition to current gas imports from Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, Ukraine may soon begin importing via the Trans-Balkan Corridor.

Last week there was an increase in natural gas imports to Ukraine to 19 million m3/day (due to the resumption of imports from Slovakia).

At the same time, the total level of natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities is 6.4 billion m3 (including 4.1 billion m3 of long-term storage gas, taking into account gas in temporarily uncontrolled territories, as well as 0.6 billion m3 of active long-term storage gas, which was transferred to the “buffer gas” category), which is 30% lower than last year (taking into account 0.03 billion m3 of gas from non-residents).

Daily gas consumption in Ukraine has decreased to 25 million m3/day over the past week, which, according to AGSI, allows for up to 40 million m3/day to be pumped into underground storage facilities.
