The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval, and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, Ibrahim Yumakli, signed a protocol on expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.
This involves increasing trade volumes of poultry meat, milk and dairy products, honey, large and small cattle, vegetables, oil, fruits, and organic products.
“Among the key agreements with my Turkish colleague is the expansion of purchases of Ukrainian products, particularly corn and oil. In return, Turkey is interested in supplying tractors and other agricultural machinery to Ukraine. We also see prospects for cooperation in this direction. After all, in Ukraine, four times less machinery is used per hectare than in Europe. Therefore, we agreed with the minister to organize a meeting between Turkish and Ukrainian businesses and machine-building associations,” said Vitaliy Koval, the Minister of Agrarian Policy.
In addition, Vitaliy Koval proposed increasing the export of Ukrainian soybeans to Turkey. Soybeans are interesting not only for food production, but also for animal feed. Turkish businesses are already considering the possibility of building plants in Ukraine for the production of feed and bioethanol.
