Imports of agricultural products to Ukraine were predominantly supplied by the European Union

In 2024, Ukraine imported agricultural products worth $7.82 billion, a 9.7% increase compared to 2023, when imports of agri-food products totaled $7.13 billion.

In 2024, the value of supplies from the European Union rose by nearly 9% compared to 2023, increasing from $3.68 billion to $4.006 billion. The EU’s share of Ukraine’s agri-food imports exceeded half for the sixth consecutive year, reaching 51.3%.

Supplies of food products from Asian countries reached $1.496 billion (19.1%), Latin America – $580 million (7.4%), Africa – $410 million (5.2%).

Since 2017, Poland has held the top spot among the leading suppliers of agricultural products to Ukraine. Last year, it sold agricultural goods to Ukraine worth $925 million, a 3% decrease from 2023,  $950 million.

Other significant contributors to Ukraine’s imports included Germany ($623 million), Turkey ($603 million), Italy ($388 million), Norway ($329 million), the Netherlands ($315 million), France ($294 million), the United States ($286 million), Spain ($277 million) and China ($253 million).

In the structure of Ukraine’s overseas agricultural imports, several product groups traditionally dominate: fish and seafood ($929 million); fruits, berries and nuts ($866 million); alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ($808 million); various food products ($549 million); cocoa products ($505 million); tobacco products ($490 million); animal feed and by-products ($434 million); seeds and fruits of oilseed cultures ($430 million).
