In 2024, Ukraine imported 8.2 thousand tons of buttermilk, fermented or sour milk and cream, which is a 5.7% decrease compared to the previous year’s figure. Spending on these products in 2024 was 3.4%, which is lower than in 2023 -  $16.8 million. The largest suppliers of buttermilk, fermented or sour milk and cream to Ukraine were Belgium (44.8%), Poland (40.1%), and Germany (12.1%).
Meanwhile, export shipments in 2024 increased to 4.4 thousand tons up 29.4% from the previous year. In monetary terms, exports in 2024 increased by 40.5% compared to 2023, reaching $5.9 million. The main buyers of Ukrainian buttermilk, fermented or sour milk and cream in 2024 were Moldova (88%), the UAE (6.3%), and Kazakhstan (1.9%).
