According to the latest FAOSTAT data, the top ten largest potato-producing countries include China, India, Ukraine, the United States, Russia, Germany, Bangladesh, France, Poland, and the Netherlands.

Specifically, the largest potato producers in 2023 were the following countries:

• China – 93,491,818 tons
• India – 60,142,000 tons
• Ukraine – 21,358,630 tons
• USA – 19,992,090 tons
• Russia – 19,327,000 tons
• Germany – 10,497,430 tons
• Bangladesh – 9,872,000 tons
• France – 8,800,000 tons
• Poland – 8,200,000 tons
• Netherlands – 7,885,000 tons

The total area under potato cultivation worldwide was 16.8 million hectares, compared to 18.1 million hectares in 2022. Despite the reduction in cultivated area, global potato production increased to 383 million tons in 2023, up from 376 million tons in 2022.
