In 2024, Ukraine imported 13.6% more cheese

In 2024, Ukraine imported 38.3 thousand tons of cheese, which is 13.6% more than the previous year. In monetary terms, cheese imports increased by 13.1% compared to 2023, reaching $227.1 million.

Cheeses were primarily imported to Ukraine from Poland (41%), Germany (19.2%), and the Netherlands (8.9%). The volume of Ukrainian cheese exports in 2024 grew at a faster pace than imports: +39.3% compared to 2023, reaching 12.4 thousand tons.

In monetary terms, this allowed Ukraine to earn 35.5% more than the previous year—$54.2 million. The largest buyers of domestic cheeses in 2024 were Moldova (33.2%), Kazakhstan (30.4%), and Germany (9.5%).
