Ukrainian export in 2024 grew by 13,4% up to $41 billion, – Yulia Svyrydenko

According to preliminary data, in 2024 export from Ukraine in monetary terms grew by at least 13,4%, in weight – by 28,8%. As of December 26, Ukraine exported 129,2 million tons of goods worth $41,043 billion. At the same time, according to the results of 2023, 100,3 million tons were exported for $36,1 billion.

Export indicators were also positively affected by the recovery and development of Ukrainian processing.

As reported by Deputy Minister of Economy - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, in 2024 the European Union remained Ukraine's key trading partner.

Despite all the difficulties at the ground border with the EU, this year Ukraine exported goods to the EU worth $24,5 billion. This is over $1 billion more than in 2023. And this is more than 59% of this annual export in total. In addition, almost 50% of all imports to Ukraine are goods from the EU.

It is important for Ukraine that all the possibilities of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU have been implemented, and that the Association itself corresponds to the realities of today.

In November this year, Ukraine sent an official request to the EU to apply the internal market regime for roaming services to Ukraine. This means full legal integration into the EU internal market even earlier than the opening of accession negotiations under the relevant chapter.

Next year, Ukraine will focus on finding a solution for access to the EU market for sensitive agricultural goods (corn, cereals, bran, honey, sugar, eggs and poultry meat).

Outside the EU, Ukraine's key trading partners in export in 2024 were:

China ($2,3 billion);

Türkiye ($2,1 billion);

Egypt ($1,6 billion);

India ($986 million);

Moldova ($935 million).

The leader in export in 2024 was the agro-processing product  – sunflower oil. It was exported for over $5 billion. Also out of agro-processing products there were exported:

sunflower meal - for over $1 billion;

poultry meat - for $945 million;

sugar - for $408 million;

soybean oil - for $311 million;

The leaders among exported products were cable manufacturers (exported for $1,26 billion) and furniture ($460,6 million).
