Export to the EU: sugar and egg quotas were updated

From January 1, 2025 to June 5, 2025, a new tariff quota is being introduced, corresponding to five-twelfths of the threshold set for triggering the emergency braking. For eggs, the new quota is set at 9 662,07 tons, and for sugar - 109 438,62 tons.

Now there are several possible scenarios for the development of sugar export for Ukraine.

One of them assumes that by June 2025 we have time to review the terms of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, which was in force until 2022, and agree on new, increased quota volumes. Another scenario applies in case we do not have time. In that case, it is proposed to leave the autonomous trade preferences regime in force until the end of 2025 in order to gain more time to develop a balanced position for future periods. This position was supported by almost all interested associations representing the interests of Ukrainian farmers. If we follow the second scenario, we will probably have an export quota of 262 thousand tons for the 2025 calendar year.
