The State Customs Service of Ukraine, the Customs Administration of Romania and the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova have started the second stage of the pilot project on the exchange of preliminary customs information. The project will last until July 12, 2024 and will be implemented at the checkpoints "Porubne - Siret" and "Reni-Giurgiulești-Galați" using the SEED+ platform with the support of the EU4Digital Program project.
The introduction of a mechanism for the exchange of preliminary customs information will speed up the procedure for carrying out customs formalities and allow more efficient use of the customs infrastructure. For the EU, such a procedure will facilitate the simplification of international trade, prevent VAT fraud and combat cross-border crime.
The State Customs Service is actively working on expanding cooperation with EU member states in the field of exchange of preliminary customs information. This pilot project is an important step on the way to Ukraine's integration into the European customs space.
