In 2022, for the first time of 34 years of existence, Ukrainian cheese producers participated and received awards at the World Cheese Awards international competition.

At this year's competition, 39 kinds of cheeses from Ukraine were presented, 13 of them received awards. One cheese received the highest honor - the Super Gold award and was included into  the hundred best cheeses in the world according to the World Cheese Awards.

In total, more than 4 400 cheeses from 42 countries of the world were presented at this year's competition. Cheeses were evaluated by 250 judges from different countries.

The participation of Ukrainian producers in the event took place with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian Quality Food Trade Program.

Micro and small cheese producers became the main participants of the competition. Preparation for participation in the competition lasted 4 years.

The World Cheese Awards in 2022 was supposed to be held in Ukraine, but due to the war, the venue of the competition moved to Great Britain. The organizers of the competition plan to hold it in Kyiv after the end of the war.
