“Visa-free trade” with the EU has entered into force

On June 6, autonomous trade measures came into effect in the EU, according to which all import duties and quotas for Ukrainian exports to the European market are suspended for one more year.

The updated rules consider concerns from European producers and include strengthened protection mechanisms and the possibility of an urgent termination of the autonomous trade measures in the event of an emergency on the EU market concerning a defined range of goods, including eggs, poultry, sugar, oats, corn, cereals, and honey. The renewed autonomous trade measures will be effective till June 5, 2025.

Such additional protective mechanisms will allow to maintain the balance in trade with Ukraine and at the same time continue searching for a long-term solution to this problem within the framework Ukraine-EU Association Agreement.
