The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on “customs visa-free regime” with the European Union

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law (reg. No. 7420) on customs visa-free regime, which provides for joining the Convention on the procedure of common transit with the countries

of the European Union. The document brings the Ukrainian customs legislation closer to the legislation of the European Union. In particular, it improves the current regulations in terms of simplifying customs clearance for reliable enterprises, granting the status of a financial guarantor and ensuring the payment of customs payments. The changes also provide for the introduction of a European mechanism for considering complaints and the continuation of the digitalization of customs, which will speed up its passing and reduce corruption risks. The further conclusion of the "customs visa-free regime" agreement with the EU will give Ukraine the opportunity to introduce the exchange of customs information on transit cargo with 36 countries in real time, special transit simplifications and simple and equal conditions for financial guarantors.

As reported, draft law No. 7420 was supported in the first reading by people's deputies in June this year. 269 parliamentarians voted for it.
