On April 9, the first deal was concluded on LLC “Ukrainian Energy Exchange” since the launch of the “Import-Export of Electricity” section.

“Ukrhydroenergo” acted as the initiator of the auction and carried out the sale of electricity in the direction of the Ukraine – Moldova cross-border flow.

This deal became an important step in the development of exchange trading in electricity and the expansion of opportunities in the organized market.

It is emphasized that this also has practical significance for the entire energy system: a separate exchange section for import-export operations makes such transactions more predictable and transparent, allows better balancing of the system under conditions of variable demand and generation, and also opens up additional opportunities for attracting resources from abroad or selling surplus electricity.

As a result, the system gains more flexibility, and the market gains clear rules of the game for all participants.
