Ukrainian honey exports this year will decrease by 10-20%

Ukrainian honey exports in 2026 may decrease to 40–45 thousand tons.

The main influencing factors were the increase in logistics costs, the rise in fuel prices, and the temporary loss of certain export markets due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

Thus, forming a batch of products is now significantly more expensive, as honey has to be collected from different regions. At the same time, the cost of delivering a container to Qatar has increased from $7–8 thousand to about $20 thousand, and transportation times – from 45 to 90 days. In connection with this, supplies to this destination are currently suspended.

Until the new harvest, which is expected in August, a temporary shortage of honey remains on the market, which is already affecting export volumes and prices.

Semen Gagarіn predicts that in 2026 Ukrainian beekeepers will harvest 60-80 thousand tons of honey, as in 2023-2024.

The main sales market remains the EU, which accounts for 90–95% of exports.
