Ukraine is increasing its agricultural exports. External agricultural trade balance amounts to 16,5 billion USD.
According to the data provided by UKRINFORM in 2019 Ukrainian agricultural exports amounted to record 22,2 billion USD and this is 19% more than in 2018. It was reported by Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB).
It was also informed that imports of agricultural products increased by 14% and amounted to 5,7 billion USD. In general the foreign trade balance of agricultural products amounted to 16,5 billion USD, which indicates that Ukraine is a net exporter (exports is bigger than imports).
During 2019 a share of agricultural products in the general exports structure amounted to 44% (in comparison with 39% in 2018) and in the general imports structure it amounted to 10% (in comparison with 9% in 2018).
The leaders are cereal crops as their exports increased by 31% (3 billion USD). This number includes corn exports, which increased by 49% (1,7 billion USD) and ready food products exports, which grew by 7% (202, 9 million USD).
In the commodity structure of imports, purchases of ready products increased by 279,4 million USD (+ 12%) due to the purchase of tobacco and bakery products. Moreover, imports of cereal crops increased by 265,9 million USD (17%) due to the purchase of potatoes, citrus fruits, cheeses and fish.
