Last year Ukraine took second place in terms of honey export to EU countries.

In total, the EU imported more than 163 000 tons of honey worth €359,3 million in 2023. China supplied the most honey to the EU — 37% (over 60 000 tons). Ukraine took second place – 28% (almost 46 000 tons). Argentina — 12%, Mexico – 7%, Cuba – 3% also entered the top five.

At the same time, EU countries also exported honey worth €146 million (almost 25 000 tons). Compared to 2013 the import of honey from outside the EU increased by 20%, and the export - by 14%.
