Ukraine is moving to the European food certification system

From January 15, 2024, it is planned to move in Ukraine to use the online platform of the European Commission for certification and support of export/import/transit of animals, products of animal and plant origin, food products, feed (TRACES NT) for cargo certification, the implementation of which will significantly simplify formal procedures implementation of export and transit of food products to the territory of the EU when crossing the state border.

The scope of types of food products, the certification of which will be done using TRACES NT, is determined by the forms of certificates adapted and integrated into the system, now these are the following forms:

  • official certificate for importing eggs intended for human consumption into the EU;
  • an official certificate for importing into the EU egg products intended for human consumption;
  • an official certificate for the import into the EU of dairy products intended for human consumption that are subject to specific risk reduction treatment other than pasteurization (MODEL DAIRY-PRODUCTS-ST);
  • an official certificate for importing honey and other beekeeping products intended for human consumption into the EU;
  • an official certificate for the import into the EU of meat semi-finished products intended for human consumption (MODEL MP-PREP);
  • official animal health certificate for the import into the European Union of live fish, live crustaceans and products of animal origin from these animals intended for human consumption (sample FISH-CRUST-HC);
  • official certificate for the import into the Union of fresh meat intended for human consumption, with the exception of chopped meat and mechanically deboned meat, from poultry, except for the range of boneless (MODEL POU).

In the process of adaptation and implementation of certificate forms in TRACES NT, this list will be supplemented.

The conditions for confirmation (validation) of the capacity in TRACES NT are state registration of the capacity or obtaining an operational permit for this capacity.
