Ukraine initiates the creation of an international Coordination Group for the prevention of hunger

Ukraine made an unprecedented decision - to send part of the harvested wheat, which was going for export, for those African countries, where children and adults have already nothing to eat. Under the auspices of the President of Ukraine V. Zelensky and under the coordination of the Head of Office of the President  A. Yermak, the humanitarian program "Grain from Ukraine" begins its work, which will be implemented in partnership with the World Food Program.

The aim of the program is the purchase of agricultural products of Ukrainian producers by the participating countries of the project and their transfer to countries on the verge of famine.

The program is going to provide grain to at least 5 million people by the end of spring 2023. This is possible thanks to shipments of 1 to 10 ships a month as part of the humanitarian program during 2023.
