Ukraine increased the export of sunflower oil to the EU by 23%, rapeseed oil by twice

From July 1, 2023 to January 14, 2024, Ukraine has exported almost 1,4 million tons of vegetable oils to the countries of the European Union.

This is 23% more than in the same period of the previous agricultural year (1,126 million tons). For example, the supply of Ukrainian sunflower oil to the EU in 6,5 months increased by 23% to 1,178 million tons.

The shipment of rapeseed oil doubled to 93,19 thousand tons. The export of soybean oil, on the contrary, reduced by 5% to 118,72 thousand tons.

As for the meal, in the reporting period its sale to Europe amounted to 839 000 tons against 854 66 thousand tons a season earlier. According to the EC, export of soybean meal and rapeseed meal increased by 43,6% and 170% to 220,25 thousand tons and 121,42 thousand tons, respectively. The supply of sunflower meal reduced by 24% to 497,33 thousand tons.

In the category of oil crops, there is a significant drop in sales — from 4,6 million tons to 2,53 million tons. In the new agricultural market, sales of sunflowers slowed down sharply — from 1,445 million tons to 113,1 thousand tons. Rapeseed export reduced from 2,64 million tons to 1,94 million tons, and soybeans - from 605 thousand tons to 469,76 thousand tons.
