In May, compared to April, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 29%, to 398 thousand MWh, while exports grew 2.8 times – to 94 thousand MWh.
At the same time, exports along the Romanian route increased more than 5 times, to 16.2 thousand MWh. Hungary traditionally accounts for the largest share of electricity exports – 64%.
In total, since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has exported 157.5 thousand MWh of electricity, but no exports took place in January and February.
Electricity imports in May decreased by 29%, to 398 thousand MWh. Supplies decreased in all directions except Slovakia. The largest volume of imports also fell on the Hungarian route – 52%.
