Ukraine increased dairy products exports by 12% to 131.91 thousand tonnes last year

In 2025, Ukraine increased both export revenue and physical volumes of dairy products exports by 35% and 12% respectively compared to 2024.

In January–December 2025, Ukraine exported 131.91 thousand tonnes (+12%) of dairy products worth $401.36 million (+35%).

In December, the largest share of exports was accounted for by condensed milk and cream – 36%, cheeses – 22% and butter – 21%.

At the same time, in December 2025 compared to November, Ukraine increased the physical export volumes of non-condensed milk and cream to 2.58 thousand tonnes (+13%), condensed milk and cream to 3.63 thousand tonnes (+5%) and fermented milk products to 575 tonnes (+14%). The largest decreases were in supplies of whey to 1 thousand tonnes (-22%) and cheeses to 1.24 thousand tonnes (-3%).

In annual terms, export volumes increased for condensed milk and cream, butter, fermented milk products and cheeses.

Regarding imports, in December Ukraine imported 6.52 thousand tonnes of dairy products worth $37.28 million. Compared to November, imports grew by 17%, while in annual terms they decreased by 14%.

The foreign trade balance in December was negative and amounted to -$11.36 million, likely due to the influx of cheaper imported condensed milk and cheeses amid reduced export volumes.
